11 Insider Tips for Visiting Legoland California
Kids Go Free With Paid Adult Ticket in 2021
Planning a visit to Legoland anytime soon? As an official Legoland Blogger, we go to Legoland several times a year and have learned a few tricks on getting the most from our visits. I have complied my top 11 tips and must do's to make your time at Legoland even more awesome all while saving you a bit of cash too.
Never pay full price! Legoland always has some discount running at any given time of the year so there is zero reason to pay full price at the ticket booth. Buy an adult ticket, get a childs ticket free… Use offer code 219903 when prompted HERE!
Buy your tickets ahead of time to not only save money but time at the ticket booth! Ticket printed and in hand, go straight to the turnstiles (passing thru security check point first)
Mini figure trading. Yep it's a thing at Legoland. Just look for any "Model Citizen" aka employee within the park and trade to your hearts content, there is no limit. They also have trading at guest services, the main info booth at the entrance and even within the stores. Just be sure your figure is complete (head, body).
Schedule Time to Build a Robot at LEGO® MINDSTORMS® presented by Intel. This free activity fill up fast and you need a reservation so book it upon arrival. For ages 9 and up.
Download the official Legoland App for ride wait times, ride closures, meet and greet locations and specials offered during your visit (food and merchandise discounts).

Visiting with a special needs child I have a complete tip sheet HERE
Bring your own water or you can get free fountain served water at any of the food service spots. You can also bring in snacks to help tide your kids over till their next meal maximizing our dollar and time. Now I'm not saying not to indulge, after all the chocolate churros come in a very close second for me (and Yoda) as a top treat at the park. I've heard their swirled soft serve is also awesome.
Few other tips: For the older kids go to the right upon entering the park. There you will hit the bigger rides first that tend to have long lines later in the day. For the littles go to the left, there you will find lots of rides and activities perfect for the younger kids. Legoland is one big loop basically so you will pass everything finding Miniland USA in the center. Plan on your kids getting wet. There is a splash pad in Heartlake City and Pirates Shores' ride has water being shot at you from the sidelines (consider yourself warned and know that revenge can also be a sweet thing).
Did you know? Legoland has a "Rainy Day" promise. In the rare instance it rains (because hello California) and forces the closure of rides for at least 2 hours, their Rainy Day Promise allows for all paid guests already in the Park to return later in the season. Now that's Awesome! See site more more info. Also if you are a Merlin Passholder they offer "Bring a Friend Free" This is an exclusive member only promotional offer. Play Pass memberships do not qualify for this offer.
