In between ride return times? We can’t control wait times but we can enjoy the park by searching out places that are overlooked by the crowds and can make for some fun times with the family while getting those great photo memories. More ways to enjoy the park on a busy day:
For the princess, the Royal Hall has shorter wait times leading up to the parade times. You will get to meet up to 3 princesses at one time. You can see which ones will be inside via the Disneyland App (subject to change/as they rotate for breaks). Looking to meet more characters, find them on the Disneyland App!
Tarzan’s Treehouse is a fun adventure with some amazing views of the park, Pirate’s Liar on Tom Sayers island has many caves along with places to climb and explore.
Star Wars Launch Bay is a great place to escape the heat and check out some great Star Wars props, video games and meet some interesting characters too.
Take a ride on the Sailing Ship Columbia or Mark Twains Riverboat. The Disneyland Railroad or Monorail are also great ways to take a load off and take in the sights of the park with minimal waits. Over in Disney California Adventure check out the Redwood Creek trail, it’s a great ride alternative while waiting for your next attraction time to come up!
Try your luck at the Games of Pixar Pier where you can pay to play at four different game stops for prizes. Game card required to play and available at the machines next to the game booths.
Animation Academy is a favorite of our! Learn to sketch a Disney character, hang out with Crush from Finding Nemo at Turtle Talk and even met the Frozen Sisters. Located in Hollywood land in DCA.
Already in a ride queue? I recommend using the Disney Play App to pass the time. It has a great game to play on your phone with the family and helps make the wait time go quicker! For example: Peter Pans Flight~ Once you are under the canopy, a scavenger hunt begins. At the end, Tinker Bell May surprise you a few minutes before you board.
