A Progression In Courses The Garden Walk Anaheim
Anaheim GardenWalk
An incredible evening of food and more awaits you at a unique So Cal destination.
I was fortunate to have been part of an intimate evening with some friends to sample some amazing food and libations while learning what's new and soon to come at the Anaheim GardenWalk. An evening featuring four unique and different destinations was on our itinerary for the progressive dinner we were to partake in. An amazing way to sample the many flavors and settings at the GardenWalk. Our adventure was all pre arranged and we began our food journey at Roy's Hawaiian Cuisine.
The decor and ambiance of Roy's Restaurant is both casual and elegant within an intimate setting. Roy's menu is a direct reflection of this projected ambiance delivering amazing flavors and visual treats from their appetizers to their desserts. Our sampling started with a sexy Hawaiian Martini made of Maui Pineapple drenched in SKYY Vodka. Our cocktail was followed by Rim Fire Calamari and a pallet pleasing Lakanilau Roll that was a multi layer of flavors including Wagyu Beef, Snow Crab and Tempura Asparagus. Roy's service staff is equal to their food as they are highly informed on the menus offerings and their ingredients.
Our next stop would take us directly across the way to P.F Changs. Another beautifully decorated space with soaring ceilings and simplistic decor that bring the entire concept of food and space together. Our sampling began by selecting our desired feature libation and flowed by several amazing plates of flavor filled fresh selections. From the simplest of appetizers such as their Orange Ginger Edamame to a trio of Jicama Tacos, every dish had it's own distinct taste. The Dynamite Shrimp was so tender and had just the right amount of kick with it's siracha mix sauce. I highly recommend the Crab Wontons stuffed with cream cheese and served with a sweet and spicy plum sauce.
Our tasting journey continued to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. I had never dined there before so really wasn't sure what to expect. Upon arrival we were welcomed by our personal server carrying a tray of blood orange margaritas. For our main course we were given a nice selection to choose from and started with their amazing Potato Cakes. I must say the decor is very casual and welcoming. The theme is true to the movie with a very family friendly feeling perfect for small gatherings to larger groups.
The food is what took me by surprise, the dishes had a distinctly clever and current feel in their presentation. Portions are generous, the ingredients very relevant. I opted for the Shrimp Scampi over linguini. The lemon butter sauce was perfect and I loved the addition of the capers which added a nice salty tartness. Another one of my favorites was Jenny's Catch with Lobster Butter Sauce. Pan seared and served over a bed of mashed potatoes.
To finish off our evening of flavors and fabulous company we visited Fire + Ice Grill for an array of desserts and coffee. The restaurant is a great concept in an all you can eat with it's huge circular grill that cooks your desired ingredients right before your eyes. Brunch is also offered on Sundays serving up traditional breakfast options. Food allergies, they have a separate grill in back for those who need.
Desserts are what we were there for and they delivered! All their portions are perfect for sharing I am still thinking about the Turtle Cheesecake we had along with their seasonal pumpkin pie. For sharing they offer a chocolate fondu for dipping everything from pound cake to marshmallow to fresh fruit.
So what's coming to the GardenWalk for the holiday season and beyond?
Spend your days shopping at any of the many retailers and dine at one of the 9 eateries that are now open. Parking is secure and convenient and the GardenWalk is close from all major freeways. Enjoy warm beverages and sweets in a delightful outdoor environment decorated with holiday cheer this holiday season and beyond.
Exciting news for 2016! House of Blues will be relocating from nearby Downtown Disney and be making it's opening debut in spring of 2016. Additionally 6 more eateries will be making The Anaheim GardenWalk their home in the following months.
So what was my overall take? I love how central the Anaheim GardenWalk is and the exterior upgrades that have been made. The overall layout and amenities of the property lend to a total experience combining unique dining options with shopping in one space.
