2018 Dole Rose Parade Float Sharing Nature's Bounty
We LOVE Dole! Attending their Family Day is always a fun event surrounded by friends and family. It's also a signal that the holiday break is almost upon us and trust me we are ready for it. This year Dole is giving back in a huge way, check out the generous giveaway that is going on now. I also did a little searching for "autism friendly" viewing of the parade so be sure to check that info out below as well for next years parade.
The Dole 2018 Rose Parade Float, Sharing Nature’s Bounty, celebrates the “circle of life” and showcases the various countries and cultures where Dole fruit is grown. A dazzling display of animatronic creatures, such as an octopus and zebra, a 16-foot tall 2,000 gallon-waterfall and over 60,000 individual flowers will grace the 26-foot float. Twelve dancers will flank both sides and perform a fusion of traditional and modern dance from around the world.
We have been attending Dole's Family Day at Fiesta Floats for three years now. It's a treat to get up close to the floats, help out with the decorating and meet the Tournament of Roses Royal Court. This year was no different as we were entertained by live dancers, got to meet with the coolest Santa and enjoy a chill morning with other families. No visit to the Dole family event would be complete without some yummy treats provided by Dole Foods and an extra bonus was lunch provided by Twohey’s famous food truck. Zero chance of leaving hungry from this event that's for sure!
As a part of Dole’s objective to share nature’s bounty and give back in 2018, Dole Packaged Foods launched its Ray of Sunshine Sweepstakes, taking place now until December 20, 2017. The Sweepstakes grand prize winner will be chosen among those who nominate someone who is making a positive impact in their community locally for a chance to win 5,000 lbs. of food and a donation of $5,000 to a charity of their choice. For more information about the Sweepstakes, including terms and conditions, and to enter visit Facebook.com/DoleSunshine.
FYI for next year. My girl has yet to see the parade live, like ever! I finally did the research and think I found the solution. See how you can get a few of the approximately 2,100 spots set aside for accessible viewing along the parade route for free thanks to the City of Pasadena.
Rose Parade Accessible Viewing: Registration normally opens up for these spaces in October and when I check as of 12/10 they were full. Three sidewalk or street-level areas on the Rose Parade route are reserved for people whose disabilities make coping with crowds or standing difficult. Admission is FREE and each disabled person may bring up to four guests. The three viewing areas are all served by accessible restrooms. You will need to bring your own chairs or cushions to sit on. To request space at an accessible viewing area, click HERE to complete and submit this form. If you have questions or need assistance with completing this form call (626) 449-4100 or email accessiblerose@gmail.com.
