Simply 600 Menu Small on Calories, Big on Taste
The Simply 600 Menu at the Daily Grill is Big on Taste, Small on Calories
Is watching your calorie intake keeping you from dining out? Finding it hard settle on a place to eat when one of your party is gluten intolerant? If this is the case, the Daily Grill is an excellent option for you. Using locally sourced ingredients and keeping the calories at 600 or less, the Simply 600 Menu has vegan, gluten free and calorie conscious options that won't leave you short on choices or flavor.
The Simply 600 menu is offered for both lunch and dinner with several options that are gluten-free as well as vegan. Ever been to one of the several locations within So Cal, here are just a few things we tried.
Offering a full bar and serving brunch thru dinner, I think the decor could best be described as a Derby feel with an uptown flair, visually light and neat. Regarding their service and food presentation they are all about quality and customer attention.
We visited during lunch so I ordered off the Simply 600 Menu getting the Blackened Ahi Tuna Salad. The Ahi was served just like I prefer, rare and blackened. The salad was super light and full of flavor by the use of artichoke hearts, mixed field greens, carrots, green beans and red peppers. It was all tossed in an Asian style vinaigrette. If you are looking for a salad as a meal I would recommend this one, it was very well served and filling.
We also tried the Ahi Tuna Wrap which would be a good alternative if in the mood for more of a "meal". It came seared rare with blackened spices, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and a wasabi aioli (that we got on the side), wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla and served with peanut cole slaw. We opted for fries in place of the slaw (because of the nuts).
Another light option on the Simply 600 Menu we tried was the Cobb Wrap and Soup of the day. It's a signature cobb salad wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla with bleu cheese aioli and served with a cup of house made soup.
Looking to visit for dinner? They offer everything from Trout and chicken as well as steak, all incredibly under 600 calories.
So after being so good we saved room (and calories) for something a little sweet. We decided to share the Cinnamon Apple Crisp (they have different ones offered seasonally). It is served warm with Vanilla Ice Cream topped with a salted caramel sauce. Yeah it's as good as it looks and sounds. Note: If you are planning on ordering a dessert, know that they are all made to order so plan your dessert strategy ahead of time (takes about 10 minuets to make). Okay so this dessert is not on the Simply 600 Menu but hey, gotta live a little right?
