Disneyland Vacation Grand Legacy at the Park Discounts

Disneyland Vacation Planning~Grand Legacy at the Park Discounts

Looking for a place to stay while visiting Disneyland? Grand Legacy at the Park in Anaheim has always been our go to place to stay when we want somewhere that is within walking distance, affordable, safe and clean. Literally steps away from the Disneyland main gates, Grand Legacy at the Park has so much to offer families who want to make the most of a day or two at the Disneyland Resort.

We recently took advantage of the current 3 Day California Resident ticket offer for Disneyland (get all the details HERE) and wanted to get the most of our first visit, here is how Grand Legacy at the Park made that possible for us.

A normal visit for many to Disneyland is rope drop to closing, but for us, we are limited to about 5 hours before we tap out. When passes were a thing, this wasn’t an issue for us, but now that we are buying daily tickets, we wanted to enjoy less crowds first thing in the morning while also being able to see the nighttime fireworks and enjoy the evening vibe the park offers. Living 40 minutes away, it isn’t practical to drive back and forth so staying within walking distance is the perfect option.

Enter Grand Legacy at the Park and it’s location… it’s literally right across the street from the main entrance of Disneyland off Harbor Blvd. It’s a quick 5 minute walk to the security check making it a shorter walk than the one from the parking structures due to the trams not running.

Here are all the current promotions at Grand Legacy at the Park. These various offers span the rest of 2021 and are a perfect companion to the Disneyland 3 Day California Resident offer that is currently running as well as the upcoming Oogie Boogie Bash starting in September… Don’t wait to book your next staycation!

The Fifth Roof Top Bar at Grand Legacy at the Park offers amazing views of Disneyland at Night

Here’s how we made the most of our overnight stay at Grand Legacy at the Park. The same can be done if staying 2 nights in a row.

  • Get to the hotel an hour before the park opens, visit the reception and ask to park in advance of your check in time. Be sure to have an ID and your hotel reservation handy.

  • Walk over to the park, enjoy the morning rope drop and plan on returning to the hotel by check in which is 3pm. We stayed in one of their Premier Two Queens Rooms that include: 2 queen beds, double sinks, granite counter tops in bathroom. Room also includes mini refrigerator, microwave, HDTV, complimentary toiletries, hair dryer, iron & wake-up service. Roll-away beds and cribs are available at no extra charge, based upon availability.

  • Settle in, head to the pool and rest up for the second half of your day at Disneyland reenergized. We headed into DTD for dinner before retiring to the park.

  • Enjoy the parks nighttime entertainment and stay till closing. The quick 5 minute walk back to the hotel will be welcomed, trust me.

  • Day 2 if you are returning to the park, request a late check out which is normally at noon vs 10 am…plan ahead and pack your items up before you leave. This gives you a full 4 hours to enjoy the park in the morning. At noon, simply take a time out from the park to check out, park at the structure and grab lunch before heading in again to the park. This can easily be done by just 1 adult in your party or everyone depending on your situation.

  • Now if you have booked 2 nights at the hotel…. that’s all the better, just repeat the steps above.

Looking for a few tips on visiting Disneyland?

  • The day of your reservation: If you are looking to join the boarding group for Rise of the Resistance OR Web Slingers over in DCA there are 2 opportunities to do so. One is at 7am from wherever you are and the other is at 12 noon. I literally signed into the Disneyland App 2 minutes before 7am and refreshed my screen till it was 7am. Added my 2 tickets to the virtual queue and we were in! It was just that simple. If you don’t score a 7am boarding group you can try again at noon, but you must be within the park for this attempt.

  • Arriving: It’s up to you. Park hours are pretty much back to normal and park hopping begins at 1pm if you have a park hopper ticket.

  • Have your park tickets ready. The code will be scanned at the turnstiles and you will be issued a paper ticket. If you are using the California 3 Day ticket offer, they will ask to see ID upon your first use.

  • If you are a Legacy Passholder (Legacy pass holders are annual pass holders who held a valid pass before the March 2019 park closure), be sure to get your discount code by reaching out to Disneyland via their customer service number or via the chat option on the app. The discount barcode will automatically be added to your account and applied when applicable.

  • Mobile Ordering: Plan ahead for all your meals and snacks! This really is a convenient option. Upon your first order you can link the payment method and save it for the rest of your purchases during your visit if you choose. I highly recommend utilizing Mobile ordering and setting up your desired food upon arrival. The later in the day, the later the pick up times there are available.

  • Rides: Currently there is no Fastpass or Maxpass option, just good old standby lines. Check the app for the latest times. I recommend hitting the most popular attractions first. You can easily find this out by checking the app a day before and look at the wait times. Since Snow White, Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion recently had improvements done , they have longer wait times.

  • Your phone will be used a lot so I highly recommend turning off apps or notifications that drain your battery and bring a portable charger. FuelRods are still in the park and exchangeable if you have one.

  • You can bring in your own water and snacks but again I recommend packing light.

  • Shoes… That extra walking from the parking thru the esplanade, into security and out to the tram route then back to the parking structure at the end of the day adds a lot of steps.

  • Characters: They are scattered around the park and set back from the public. They still interact with you and pose for pictures but there are no autographs currently being done.

  • Main Street vehicles: They are up and running giving lifts from the start of Main Street to the hub as usual with limited capacity.

The magic is back at the Disneyland Resort and staying overnight at Grand Legacy at the Park is a great way to make the most of your visit!
