Knott's Berry Farm's Ghost Town Turns 75
At 75 Years Young, Knott's Berry Farm's Ghost Town is deep in Preparations for a summer full of fun you won't want to miss out on!
Knott's Berry Farm is gearing up to celebrate Ghost Town and it's 75 Year Anniversary with some exciting upgrades, refurbishments and additions stampeding into the park this summer. From the complete restoration of GhostRider to the rehab of Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant there are many reasons to visit this summer.
The park is transforming and improving on it's foundation, remaining a family fun destination that not only provides big attractions but top notch live entertainment. Here is what's in store for 2016 and when it's all going down.
Coming this summer 2016:
- GhostRider Rollercoaster: Completly referbushed and fitted with brand new trains that resemble mining cars and over 4,500 new feet of new wooded track. Fun Fact: GhostRider was the last attraction commissioned by the Knott family and is still the longest, tallest and fastest wooded roller coaster on the west coast.
- Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant : Currently undergoing a complete renovation and is slated to open this spring. The changes will be the inside as well as the outside creating an area to dine while enjoying the view of the marketplace fountain. Modern upgrade to being seated will be added, allowing guests to check in with a phone number and have a text sent to them.
- Calico Restoration: To include a completely new calico Stage, Panning for Gold returns to it's original location located near the GhostRider Queue and New Calico Park area that will be replacing the current Calico Stage area. Calico Saloon and Wagon Camp will be closing in early 2016 for their renovations.
- Ghost Town Alive!: Try your luck at a hand of cards with the Sheriff or be apart of the townsfolk hunting down bandits, you choose your level of engagement in this live interactive cosplay of sorts! Select peek-ins will be transformed into authentic working establishments, and guests will be welcomed to step inside. At the Barber Shop, guests can walk in and meet Calico’s trusted barber who’s rife with town gossip.
