Lego Movie World at Legoland California is Open
Lego Movie World at Legoland California is Now Open
The anticipation is over! The long awaited Lego Movie World at Legoland in Carlsbad is officially open after a long delay due to Covid pushed its opening date back more than a year. We were invited to kick off the official opening and are happy to report that Legoland has done it again! As you enter this all new world you are transported into Bricksburg where you will experience lots of fun photo ops, themed food and of course awesome attractions.
The Lego Movie World is huge, in fact it’s the resorts largest expansion since it’s original opening date back in 1999. You might know this space was the former home to Heartlake City. We may have lost the land dedicated to the Lego Friends but guests have definitely gained an improved new land that will appeal to both boys and girls alike.
The land is the largest addition in the Park’s history, and features six interactive attractions, including:
Emmet’s Flying Adventure Ride Hop aboard Emmet’s triple decker flying couch for a thrill-seeking adventure. Surrounded by a full-dome virtual screen, guests feel the sensation of flying with the addition of wind, mist, scents and movements. Along the way, riders will see some familiar faces including Sweet Mayhem, a star character from THE LEGO®MOVIE 2: The Second Part. Heads up, we experienced this ride and although my girl had zero issues it made me a tad dizzy. Min requirement to ride: 40” and 3 years old and must be accompanied by a supervising companion 14 years or older. To ride alone, rider must be 48” tall and 6 years old.
Unikitty’s Disco Drop literally takes you on the up’s and downs of the many personalities of the fearless feline. The new ride launches guests to the top of Cloud Cuckoo Land, then drops, spins and bounces them back down to earth, creating a thrilling and fun experience.
Benny’s Playship, Queen Watevra’s Carousel and Build Watevra You Wa'Na Build zone are just a few more of the fully themed attractions this new land has to offer all centered around a massive splash pad!
Along with the new rides and attractions there is also a dedicated meet and greet spot you can get some fun pictures of Emmet and all his friends in Emmet’s Super Suite. Hungry? Enjoy tasty themed treats such as Cloud Cuckoo Crepes, Benny’s Rocket Fuel and Everything is Ramen throughout the land.
If you are visiting with a child that requires accommodations due to mobility or autism, Legoland offers that with their Assisted Access Pass, get all the details HERE.
Tips on visiting with this new lands opening.
Hit Emmet’s Flying Adventure first! This ride is really fun and is totally going to be THE most popular ride in the park for months to come! Until capacity and social distancing is removed, expect wait times to be delayed. This ride may cause dizziness so if you have issues with rides with large screens be aware. What did I do? I just looked away during parts of the ride.
If you are planning on enjoying the splash pad, bring extra clothes.
Emmet’s Super Suit offers a fun meet and greet with different characters as well as a green screen photo op that starts at $17.99 that includes a photo printed right on the spot. Makes for a very cute souvenir.
