Knott’s Berry Farm has added a new Seasonal event to it’s line up and the verdict, Summer Nights is a hit!
As the sun goes down at Knott’s Berry Farm the Summer Nights action begin! Think of it as a neighborhood street party of sorts that includes exclusive food and entertainment awaiting you. Here’s what you can expect and in true Knott’s Festival form, Summer Nights has its very own Tasting Card too.
Starting at 6pm nightly now through August 11th, Summer Nights offers guests several options in live music. Enjoy a variety of bands that rotate at the Calico Park stage nightly, rock out to a top 40's band at the Calico Mine Stage or bop to beats of the Boardwalk DJ around Charleston Circle Fountain. Best part is all the music offerings overlap each other so you literally won’t miss a beat! Mad T Party fans (you know who you are), be sure to check out the live music line up…. Kudos Knott’s!
Fun larger than life family friendly activities like Checkers, Connect Four, Jingo and Tiki Toss are just a few of the free games located within the Midway and will keep you and your youngins busy for hours! Their optional Tasting Cards can easily be shared and offer a great balance of savory and sweet options along with wine and beer too. There are also fire pits located in front of the main stage that you can roast your own S’more at. The kit costs $7 and you can use your season pass for a discount.
Tasting Cards are $35 each, are good to use through August 11th. They offer several sharable choices from meats to treats and even beverages. We had a change to sample several and are looking forward to heading back to try more! Here are just a few of the tasting card offerings and be sure to see my top pick below!
Fish Tacos currently available are actually Shrimp. Watch for the options to change during the event. Same goes for the Sausage on a Bun, currently its a spicy sausage. The Chicken Skewer was good and you have an option of several sauces you can top it off with. The Cup of Corn was one of our favorites, off the cob and topped with fresh cotija cheese if you please.
You might run into some “interesting” locals during Summer Nights. Known as the Block Party Planning Committee you might see such characters as Anna Break, Anita Drink or Justin Credible to name a few. They all add an extra layer and special touch and we found them to be a hoot to interact with. So if you happen to see them be sure to go up and snap a picture, play a game or show them your best dance moves.
Oh I almost forgot…. Our top pick from the Tasting Card is…..The Build Your Own Carmel Apple. Find this monster at The Candy Store in Ghost Town right across from the Calico Saloon. It retails for $9.99 a la cart so it is a huge bang for your tasting card buck! Have them cut it up for you and it becomes a very sharable treat. Best part you get to choose 2 toppings and the option to add caramel drizzle or not. We shared this decadent treat between 4 of us and had zero regrets! Be sure to grab extra napkins and forks.
As if the addition of Summer Nights wasn’t enough, plan of getting to the park early to enjoy all the interactive fun of Ghost Town Alive! , chill out with the coolest beagle around at the Charles M. Schulz Theatre with Snoopy starring in Beach Blanket Beagle! and enjoy a fun white water rafting adventure on the new Calico River Rapids if you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet! The new theming, animatronics and fun blast zone is one not to miss! New to the attraction is a single rides line… Be warned, there is no guessing how wet you will get!
We found ourselves walking staying way later than we had planned enjoying all the music, ambiance and well we really needed to walk that fudge apple off to be honest.
