The Kings, Queens, and Castles exhibit is now open at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. On loan from from the Museum Stibbert of Florence, Italy view this amazing collection from September 22, 2018-January 13, 2019. Step back in time and experience the provocative beauty and the exquisite craftsmanship of more than 90 pieces of armor, including full suits, helmets, corselets, shields, swords and paintings on loan from the Museo Stibbert of Florence, Italy bring to life the legendary figure of the knight, his code of chivalry and his battlefield role.
Features stunning masterpieces of European arms and armor, dating from the Medieval and Renaissance ages to the Romanticized Medieval revival of the 1800s. Knights in Armor offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the complex system of knighthood as well as the customs, arms and armor of tournaments and jousting. Bowers will also offer unique interactive activities including a sword-in-the-stone photo station and the “Knight’s Quest” scavenger hunt.
Bowers’ Kidseum will present the exhibition Kings, Queens, and Castles opening September 29, 2018 in conjunction with Knights in Armor, providing visitors with a heavily interactive experience that compliments with life-sized chess play.
