Toyota 2016 4Runner Limited Test Drive Lets Go Places

2016 Toyota 4Runner Limited

Time off, check! Hotel Reservations, check! Sweet new ride for our road trip....oh yeah! We took a four day weekend up the coast and were provided a brand spanking new 2016 Toyota 4Runner limited to test out and what a sweet ride it is.

We are no strangers to the Toyota brand or vehicles in general, my husband has a serious obsession with them. We are also avid off roaders racing competitively and always take the unpaved roads for fun. In our household Vehicles outnumber people in our family 2 to 1. We were definitely up to see how the 4Runner handles on road as well as off.

On Road or Off Road, The 2016 4Runner will get you there.

As a mid sized SUV It handled like a sports car, tight on the curves and very responsive both on and off road. The 4Runner did fairly well on gas and the Eco drive indicator lets you know when you are getting optimal mileage, great feature in my opinion.

Interior space is roomy for a mid sized SUV. With the third row seating you can fit 7 people. When not in need of the extra seats, they fold down flat providing tons of space. I loved the baseball stitching details on the leather seating as well as the features like Bluetooth, satellite radio and the USB outlet on the center console. At a touch of the screen you can set everything you need. Oh and the dual a/c is a must for couples, just saying.

Drivers POV everything within easy of reach. Loved the wood trim shifter and console area.

Don't let the 6 cylinders fool you, this SUV can definitely move with it's 270 HP while still giving you 17 MPG city and 22 MPG highway while running full time 4 wheel drive (Limited Edition). The Sequential sport shift is a super fun option if you are looking for more control over shifting (ECO mode does not work while using this option). The seating is comfortable and the heated option is great on long drives or during cold days.

Baseball or Preforated stitching detail on the Leather Trimmed seats.

Remote keyless entry and start. Okay this was something I had to get used to. I'll be honest with you, it felt strange at first not using a key to start the truck.

I loved the stance the vehicle has. The motorized side steps tuck out of view when not in use, super perk for those with little ones. We loved the stock Yokohama tires. They provide great handling and traction with a clean profile.

From the sea to the mountains and everywhere in between.

So what's my verdict? We love Toyota, own a Tundra and a long bed pick up so we are sold on the product. Our overall opinion is this SUV makes for the perfect family vehicle for all terrains and active lifestyles. I enjoyed the sporty ride the 4Runner has along with the quick pick up and the easy in the overall drive-ability. Leather is a definite must in my book for easy of care as well as the third row option for the occasional family trips both of which are offered on the Limited edition.

Only downside besides having to turn it back in, I think it could have an automatic closing tailgate option. The 2016 4Runner has a starting MSRP of $33,810.
