Wonder Woman Rise of the Warrior

Wonder Woman- Rise of the Warrior

This is a sponsored post for Warner Bros. Pictures. We were invited by Warner Bros Pictures to preview Wonder Woman and be a part of a Q & A with the Star Gal Gadot and the films director Patty Jenkins as a part of the movies press junket tour promoting the blockbuster film Wonder Woman coming to theatres this June 2, 2017. Get your tickets NOW here!

Synopsis: Before she was known as Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot who tells her about the massive conflict that's raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.

Movie Review: As far as "super Hero" films go I will say this one is a visual stunner, from the actresses to the locations and everything in between.... is bold, dark and beautiful. With action packed scenes along with a great balance of some poignant and comical moments, its definietly 100% badass to the core! Being the first blockbuster for a leading woman super hero ever, the film for me felt very femine without being "girly". Rated PG 13 the movie runs 2 hours and 21 minuets and has no issues in keeping the audiences engaged. In a day where CGI is everything, Wonder Woman's Patty Jenkins directing approach felt different for me. The battle scenes were not overly gory, the love scenes not overly racy and the evil doings of some of the characters were very well suited for the PG13 rating it carries while still making a huge impact. The Q & A with the star Gal gadget and director Patty Jenkins really brought the film full circle for me hearing their take on the project and the journey they experienced making it.

After the Q & A session there was only enough time to get a quick picture, but oh so worth it... just look at that smile!

My daughter walked away after the screening saying she wanted to be Wonder Woman. If your child is on the younger side like mine (almost 10), the movies message was pure and innocent and in the end drove home the idea that you must always have faith, hope and to never give up for who or what you believe in! Oh and that girls seriously rock and can kick some serious ass! This film will be an inspiration to ALL girls young and old.  Bottom line, always be you but if you can....be a Wonder Woman!

Some facts about the making of the film:

  • Gal Gadot was pregnant during part of the filming and had to have her costume modified with red fabric allowing production to cover up her baby bump. There were several action scenes that required retakes as well due to the restrictive Wonder Woman costume where green fabric was used to then computer generate her bump away.
  • Almost all of the stunts were done by Gal herself as the director felt even shots from behind wouldn't portrait Gal aka Wonder Woman's physical movements or intentions the same if done by a stunt actress.
  • The PG 13 rating was a constant goal for Director Patty Jenkins.
  • Production began on November 21st, 2015 and ended on May 9th, 2016 with the exception of the reshoots in November 2016 while Gadot was 5 months along.
  • All the woman trained in an amazonian "boot Camp" to prepare for the physical demands of the film, teaching the cast multiple tasks, one who could ride horseback well must then also be able to yield a sword and shoot a bow and arrow.
  • Filming occured in various locations in London, Italy and France.

“Wonder Woman” is one of the most anticipated superhero movies. It is based on the DC Comics character of the same name, and the fourth installment in DC Extended Universe. The story was written by Geoff Johns and Allan Heinberg. In addition to Gadot, the film features Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Elena Anaya, Danny Huston, Lucy Davis, David Thewlis, and Ewan Bremner.

Huge thanks to Chasing Fireflies for their AMAZING Wonder Woman Costume, it was perfect!
