African-American Festival at Aquarium of the Pacific + Ticket Giveaway
The Aquarium of the Pacific is hosts it's 17th annual African-American Festival. Join them in celebrating the rich diversity of African-American and African cultures during the weekend long event featuring the sights and sounds of performances by local African American groups including Mardi Gras second line dancers, hip hop and break dancers, jazz musicians, interactive drum circle musicians, and West African dancers. The festival will also feature cultural displays, handmade craftwork, and storytellers. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the festival’s offerings and discover the wonders of the Pacific Ocean at the Aquarium.

HONOREE: The Aquarium will present the Heritage Award to The Honorable Kevin D. Filer on Saturday, February 23, at 12:20 p.m. He serves as a judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County. In his career, Judge Filer has focused on justice and equality, and his community service efforts have earned him recognition from the Long Beach Branch of the NAACP and the City of Compton, his hometown. He was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame of the John M. Langston Bar Association.
