The Renaissance Pleasure Faire returns to the Santa Fe Recreational Area bringing with it all the colors, sounds and flavors of a past era.
It all began in 1963 in Agoura, near Malibu, to create “living history” for school children and their families, the Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire has grown into an annual interactive playground and gallery for over 200,000 participants and guests. Since its inception, more than 5 million people from around the world have visited Southern California’s Renaissance Pleasure Faire, averaging approximately 20,000 each weekend. The Faire is a romp back in time through Elizabethan England, set within shaded glades and sun dappled meadows of the Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area in Irwindale, CA.
2023 marks the 60th Anniversary of the Renaissance Pleasure Faire, where fantasy rules and whimsical delights take flight. Immerse yourself in a village of more than 1,600 costumed performers and artisans including dazzling acrobats, internationally acclaimed musicians and entertainers. Be entertained by juggling jokers and jesters, willful wenches and jousting knights as they all are ready to celebrate!
Complete with 16th Century games, rides, arts, crafts, food, music and dance, it's a recreation of the celebratory spring day in 1574 when the world arrived to entertain Queen Elizabeth in the English Seaport of Deptford.
Costumes not required but always make for a more interesting time. Costumes are also available for rent or purchase within the fair's gates.
