Who are the Faery Hunt folks? The faeries are from all walks of fantasy and nature and bring a variety of friends along on their journey to Faeryland. With the guidance of Auntie Angelica you may run into the likes of Faelinn, the water faery or Stardust the faery of the night sky. It is a live interactive show filled with singing, dancing and laughs for the entire family.
What can you expect at a performance? Almost all of the shows are held outdoors, so be ready to do some light walking in nature, join along in the story line and support your child's imagination. Select shows have a party afterwards that include face painting, light snacks and refreshments, story time, games, singalongs as well as picture opportunities. You might even go on a scavenger hunt in search of faery treasure! Little ones as young as 2 up to 8-10 will get the most enjoyment as they are invited to join along in the fun with the faery folk. Tip: In need of a fairy wand or wings, they have you cover at the show with several fun items available for purchase.
When is a good time to visit faeryland? Any! With the favorable weather we have in So Cal (and in Faeryland) you will find a performance near you year round, providing a perfect opportunity to get unplugged and into the fresh air. Pack water and come in comfy shoes. Tip: The trails are always stroller friendly.
Why Attend a Faery Hunt show? It is unlike any live show around. Children and parents alike are encouraged to dress up and be apart of the show. The interaction is magical for the younger children and the faeries are very attentive and engaging throughout the performance.
Our experience at the different Faery Hunt shows in the past: We have been attending the shows now for 3 years. My daughter, who is now 9, has high functioning autism and still working on her social skills and some auditory issues just loves to attend these shows. She was a bit shy and reserved during the first performance we attended but stayed till the end. Ever since that first show, she looks forward to the opportunity to visit the faery folks and now is always right in the mix with them, dancing, singing and playing their games. I can't thank the lovely members of the faery hunt enough for all the support and attention they have showered my girl with and in doing so have aided her in blossoming!
