All New Peanuts Celebration at Knott's Berry Farm
All New Peanuts Celebration at Knott's Berry Farm
Knott's Berry Farm knocked it out of the Boysenberry field with it's all new Peanuts Celebration happening weekends now through February 25th plus President's Day. We were there to check out this fun new event opening day and we really had an amazingly fun time! I have all the details, some tips to help you see and do it all and our top picks from the day.
I love how Knott's plans it's events. From Merry Farm to Scary Farm they always have a great park map printed out to help you plan and see it all. With that said, be sure to grab a map like the one above that will show you where al the special Peanuts Celebration "zones" are as you pass the turnstiles. Also be sure to get the daily show schedule or better yet download the Knott's APP they have a section dedicated to the Peanuts Celebration with all the info there as well.
Right away you will notice several opportunities to get into some HUGE silly Peanuts comic photo opps, I suggest doing them in the day, we waited till night time and it added more shadows, end result, they didn't turn out as nice as ones captured during the day.
Sweets and treats fans, won't be disappointed! I thought Knott's did a bang up job with Merry Farm and Boysenberry treats but for the Peanuts Celebration..... good grief! Good luck with deciding because they have so many delicious choices. Best part, follow my thinking here people....they are spread around the park so you could argue the walk between stops will work off the calories. See below for the entire list of treats and their locations. Happy hunting!
Our top pick from the day: The Sketch School located in the Birdcage Theatre in Ghost Town. Grab a sketch pad, paper, pencil and create your own masterful portrait. No drawing skill are necessary and I bet you will be surprised just how easy it is! Our girls had a blast and were very proud of their sketches. Check show times and plan a visit, characters to be sketched will vary. This activity lasted around 15 minuets.
Pig Pen can be found in the Livery within Ghost Town with a few of his not so messy friends. Great way for our city kids to get up close to pigs, horses and if you ask me, an exceptionally handsome mule. Super cute area to visit for pictures too so don't miss it.
Camp Snoopy was the place to be for several reasons. Besides the perfect size attractions for the little peanuts, they had roaming characters like Peppermint Patty, a HUGE character photo opportunity with the entire Peanuts gang and some very cheeky balloon quotes to interact with. The Grand Sierra railroad in Camp Snoopy also got a huge overlay with the addition of numerous Peanuts scenes. Great ride to take a break on and enjoy with the entire family.
There are several new shows for this event. Best part, you don't have to line up super early and they are just the right amount of time to keep your kids engaged and entertained.
Overall I'd say Knott's has another winner on it's hands! My top tips are:
Get to the park early
Grab a park map at the turnstiles
Check show times and plan accordingly
Plan to spend the day, there is just that much to see and do.
Don't miss the Peanuts Sketch School
Hop on board the Beagle Bonanza in Camp Snoopy on the Grand Sierra Railroad
Have your camera ready, you never know who you might run into!
Love that Knott's is always adding more to their already fun line up of events and it's just one more reason it pays to have a pass at Knott's. So are you planning on attending the Peanuts Celebration? I'd love to hear about your favorites. ~Cat
