Elena of Avalor Costume for All Ocassions
Elena of Avalor Disney's Latest Princess The Ultimate Costume!
My daughter (and myself I'll admit) have a thing for dressing up. I always start the search for our Halloween costumes early in September and with my girls' birthday in the same month I thought we would try something different. Since Disneyland was our destination for her special day I wanted a costume that could work for both occasions this year.
Last year we went custom and we got a ton of use out of our dresses for Halloween as well as at the local Renaissance festivals we attended. My dress had a hoop skirt that my daughter swooned over and insisted on having a dress with one this year, so my search began. But which one would one fit the bill? Ah! The newly introduced Latina princess from Disney was just the ticket!
As I researched for a custom etsy seller making Elena of Avalor costumes I came across Chasing Fireflies and their just released Ultimate Elena of Avalor Costume. It's like nothing available on the market! With as many events as we attend this time of the year, it was a no brainer to go for it! And the bonus....It had hoops!
Reaching out to Chasing Fireflies we found ourselves to be a perfect match and I was beyond excited to work with them in sharing their latest exclusive Disney costume (designed in collaboration with Disney no less). If you are not familiar with their site, they have the most amazing clothing and costumes for all ages,( even family themed costumes). The quality is what struck me and the attention to detail, nothing was overlooked. From the dress to all the accessories you could need, they have it all!
A little about THE dress! Let me start with the fabrics. As an interior designer I am all about textiles. This dress uses 6 different fabrics, all beautifully complimenting the other. The end result is this amazing replica of the original Elena of Avalor dress worn at Walt Disney World during the princesses debut on August 11th. It is fully lined, the hoop is incorporated into the dress with several layers of graduating tulle creating a perfect amount of fullness without the extra bulk of a separate hoop shirt.
The sweetheart neckline is made with a sheer coordinating fabric that has flower details with a center gem for extra sparkle. It's also constructed with a hidden side zipper and hook closure for the waist ruffling while the bow stays tied perfectly in place in the back of the dress.
The dress runs pretty true to size (may run a tad on the bigger side than smaller). My daughter is now 9 and is wearing the 10. The dress is perfectly fitted and has a very generous amount of fabric that brushes the floor creating a regal display and allowing for either flats or short heels. I honestly can't find any cons with this dress except that it only goes up to a size 10. Out of the delivery box it needed a small amount of pressing and came in a beautiful gold organza garment bag and a padded hangar.
I dare you to find a more beautiful Elena of Avalor costume off the rack. Take a look at the video promotion for Elena of Avalor's introduction at WDW to compare the dresses. So what costume is your child interested in this year? We for one are ready for Halloween time!
A huge thank you to our friends at Chasing Fireflies for providing the dress, shoes, crown and scepter for our princess, as for the hair.....is all hers!
