Looking for a special gift your Valentine will really love and appreciate? If you are like me and have a spouse that is incredibly hard to buy for, this is a one size fits all that will score you big time brownie points. I am gifting my hard working bread winner a day at the Burke Williams Spa. I introduced him to it for his birthday last year and he really enjoyed the facilities.

If you are not familiar with the brand, Burke Williams has 11 locations within California, 9 of which are within the greater LA and OC area, each having it's own unique decor and feel. I chose to visit their location in Pasadena, my old stomping grounds, it's tucked back into one of the trendy alleyways there (the bonus, there was a parking structure within feet which is a huge plus in Old Town).
From the moment you step foot through the doors, it's all about you. The front desk staff made me feel very welcomed and special right from the start and it's at that moment the exclusiveness of it all starts to sink in. Burke Williams isn't just about getting a massage or a facial, it's an all inclusive european day spa experience that's staff is 100% dedicated to catering to you. With a massage like the one my husband received (Pure Relaxation) you not only get the 50 minute massage (which is beyond relaxing), you have full access to the sauna, whirlpool, steam room along with their full bath and vanity area.

What to expect from your visit: The spa is co ed and is appointed with separate areas dedicated to both men and women. If you are super shy or uncomfortable lounging in the main waiting area of the spa, they also offer "quite rooms" that you can enjoy all to yourself while you await your selected treatment. Beverages are provided in the very tranquil setting, preparing you for the restful experience that awaits you. Being a european spa, bathing suites are optional in the separate areas. The spa area itself is very well appointed with all the toiletries you could need, your own designated private locker along with a comfy robe and slippers to utilize during your visit. There is no rush at Burke Williams, take as little or as much time as you want to pamper yourself, get pampered and relax.
